Hola, mijo... or maybe you're a hija. Either way, welcome.

My name is Queta, and I am so happy you're here.

I was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, where some of my favorite memories were made around the kitchen table, celebrating birthdays, sharing meals, laughing with family, and enjoying the simple traditions that made a house feel like home.

When I was 15 years old, I immigrated to Los Angeles with my family. Like so many families who leave one home to build another, we brought our traditions with us. We couldn't always bring everything we loved from Mexico, but we carried our recipes, our stories, our music, our celebrations, and our way of making everyone who walked through the door feel like family.

Over the years, I built a beautiful life, raised my family, and eventually retired. Retirement has been wonderful... but I also discovered something important.

You can never retire from being proud of where you come from.

That's how Casa de Queta began.

My son and I started this little business as a way to spend more time together and celebrate the culture that has shaped our family. Every product we create reminds us of something we grew up with—a game we played as children, a smell that brings back memories of home, or a tradition that deserves to be passed on to the next generation.

Whether it's a Pirinola that gets everyone laughing around the table, a candle inspired by the comforting aroma of Café de Olla, or another little piece of Mexico, our hope is that these products help bring people together.

Because that's what home has always meant to me.

You'll probably notice that I like to laugh. Life is too short not to. Around here, we believe food tastes better when it's shared, family isn't limited to blood, and there's always room for one more person at the table.

Through this blog, I'll be sharing stories, traditions, recipes, games, memories, and little pieces of Mexican culture that have been passed down through the years. My hope is that whether your family has celebrated these traditions for generations or you're discovering them for the very first time, you'll find something here that makes you smile.
