Trompo Mexicano — Handcrafted Wooden Spinning Top - Coming Soon
Coming Soon — September 2026
Before there were screens, there was the trompo. In Mexico, this spinning top has entertained generations of children in plazas, patios, and schoolyards. Wound tight with a string, launched with a flick of the wrist, and set spinning across whatever ground was nearby.
This handcrafted wooden trompo is made in the traditional style, turned and painted by hand with the bold stripes of red, green, black, and natural wood tone that make each one a small piece of folk art. A sturdy metal tip lets it spin true, and it comes with its own 2-foot cotton cord so you can learn (or relearn) the art of the throw.
Whether you grew up playing trompo yourself or you're introducing the game to your own kids for the first time, this piece is a beautiful way to bring a bit of Mexican childhood — and a little friendly competition — into your home.
Details: Handmade wooden trompo (spinning top). Approx. 4" H x 4" W. Includes 2 ft cotton pull cord. Metal spinning tip. Each piece hand-painted — colors and pattern placement may vary slightly, making yours one of a kind.
All of Casa De Queta's products are made by hand by true Mexican artisans from Michoacán.
